Punar Vivaah to blend in with Punar Vivaah Ek Nayi Umeed

It is for the first time on Indian Television that a new show will start with the same name but without a leap starting a new Season. The hugely popular show Punar Vivaah makes way for a new show Punar Vivaah Ek Nayi Umeed with an all new star cast which starts on Monday. Yash (Gurmeet Choudhary) and Aarti (Kratika Sengar) will hand over the show to the new actors Rubina Dilaik and Shristy Rode, the two main female leads of the new show.
We spoke to Karan V Grover who will be seen as the male lead Raj, son of a wealthy scrap dealer in Bhopal. Karan will be seen as an artist who is into theatre, as an actor, director, writer and not into the family business at all despite being the only son with three sisters. He hails from a conservative family who are well off but the thinking is not too progressive. Raj and Divya (Rubina Dilaik) are deep in love but he is left shattered and numb in shock when she leaves him and goes away. Raj then gives up all theatre and takes over the family business.
Due to family pressure he also gets married to a girl (Shristy Rode) of their choice without even looking at how she is before marriage. Telling us more about the story, Karan says, "My character is man of one word and doesn't talk to anybody much. He is an artist and enjoys what he is doing. The minute I heard the story and the narration about the character I was interested in the role. Just like the earlier Punar Vivaah this is going to be a progressive step further with the issue of remarriage woven in."
However Karan doesn't reveal much about how and whose remarriage will be seen in the serial, "After 10 years of being away from him Divya comes back into Raj's life and what happens next is the interesting part of the show to be watched."
Talking about himself as an actor Karan says, "I am not a method actor and I have a simple basic funda which is to follow the makers of the show. I sit for the narration, discuss my role with the writers and try and give my best to the character. For this particular role, I have decided to add body to the character which the earlier chapter of Punar Vivaah didn't have and add my flavor to it to allow the character to grow."
And will he ever leave acting if something like this happens to him in real life… if he falls in love with an actor who dumps him will he quit acting, "No, never! I will never leave acting for a girl. I am too practical a human being and not emotional. I am not even romantic when in relationship. I always think that a relationship can stay live on text messages too…" laughs off Karan.
